Violinist and folk musician Erja Pätsi and pianist, harmonium player, composer and arranger Timo Alakotila are versatile interpreters of Finnish and Nordic folk music. Their collaboration is founded on presence, attentive listening and a musical dialogue where tradition, improvisation and original compositions coexist naturally.

Drawing especially from the North Ostrobothnian fiddle tradition and older Finnish melodies, the duo brings forward material in a fresh, spacious and breathing expression. Pätsi’s melodic and rhythmically vibrant violin style meets Alakotila’s rich, open harmonic language, forming a sound world where traditional structures and new creative ideas intertwine seamlessly.
